Peter Davy is the founder and Managing Director of Ballyhoo. Peter’s experience spans over 40 years in media, with management roles in multinational agencies (JWT, FCB and George Patterson), television (NBN TV) radio (3AW), and the leading creative agency, The Campaign Palace. For the past 25 years he has specialised in the media buying and strategy area, until 1999 as Managing Director of Zenith Media, the first multinational media company. Peter’s career experience includes executive roles in Sydney , Melbourne and London, with consultant roles in Hong Kong, Singapore and New Zealand.
At Zenith, he directed the media strategy and buying for many large advertisers, including Coles Myer, Nissan, Pacific Brands, Fosters Brewing Group, Tattersalls, National Australia Bank. During Peter’s tenure Zenith was Australia’s largest media agency.
In ‘99, Peter established a joint venture media agency, Media First, with Harold Mitchell, which became Ballyhoo Communications when Peter assumed full ownership of the business in 2004. This has become Melbourne’s most respected ‘niche’ media agency, with a reputation for effectiveness and integrity, and has held several significant clients such as Sirena, Natio, Caulfield Grammar, Valcorp Fine Foods and Breakaway Apparel for many years.
Peter is one of Australia’s most experienced and skilled media strategists, and is in regular contact with the very top executives in the major media companies, thus has the influence to ensure his clients get the best.
